The former PPD deputy and now resident in Israel, Daniel Farcas, criticized international organizations that have questioned the country's defense against the threat of Hamas. “We have been absolutely weak in confronting terrorism,” due to criticism from these organizations, he said. In this same matter, this Friday the Chilean-Palestinian political scientist, Xavier Abu Eid, will be at Al Pan Pan with Mirna Schindler.

The former PPD deputy and now resident in Israel, Daniel Farcas, criticized international organizations that have questioned the country's defense against the threat of Hamas. In this same matter, this Friday the Chilean-Palestinian political scientist, Xavier Abu Eid, will be at Al Pan Pan with Mirna Schindler.

Farcas, in conversation with Al Pan Pan with Mirna Schindler, ruled out that Israel's reaction to the Hamas attack was disproportionate. In fact, he said it was a “super disproportionate” action.

"I think it is clear that at some point Gaza is going to be invaded and I believe that the best thing that can happen to the Palestinians is to free them from this torture of having a terrorist group that dominates them and that they have no future perspective." , because a group like this is only interested in more deaths, conflicts and anything that has nothing to do with the resistance,” he indicated.

In that sense, he added that “I hear that about resistance (…) and it seems terrible to me. Is resistance burning children inside their homes? Is resistance killing young people who were at a peace party? (…) Is that resistance? “I have never seen a resistance movement like this, ever.”

For this reason, he believes that Israel's response to Hamas attacks is not disproportionate, as international and Human Rights organizations say, exemplifying his position with a fictitious conflict between Chile and Bolivia.

“Put yourself in Israel's place. Suppose that missiles arrive permanently in Chile from Bolivia or Peru. All the time. What is a proportionate action? The truth is that it is not a disproportionate action, it is a very disproportionate action because it does not eliminate the fact that they continue to throw rockets at us for 15 years. That is what is disproportionate,” he explained.

For this reason, he says that internal criticism in Israel is “the other way around. We have been absolutely weak in confronting terrorism, because as a result of international criticism... for example, Israel wanted to place mines on the border, so that if the terrorists passed through, they would not cross into Israel. Deaths of children, women, people with disabilities and, in general, all types of Israeli civilians would have been avoided if we had placed the famous mines on the border. They were not put in place because there was criticism from a human rights organization, there was criticism from the international community.”

“This shows that we cannot, in Israel, continue to be prisoners of the opinion of human rights organizations that also have a totally brutal bias against Israel,” he stressed.

In the case of the fictitious Chile-Bolivia conflict, Farcas said that it is “like saying that we wait for the approval of the Chilean Communist Party to defend ourselves. That's not gonna happen".
