FNX Magokiler
Although there are many marine species that inhabit the California coast, such as whales, turtles and otters, one majestic creature caught the eyes of thousands of people on social networks. At the end of September, a tourism group captured in images a huge 230-kilogram swordfish. On the Instagram account of a man identified as Eli (@whatcameradoyouhave) a clip was published in which a large swordfish is observed, which is characterized by its long “beak.” In the images you can see how the creature walks through the ocean and, among the clarity of the water, moves its fins to offer a unique spectacle. “A giant 500-pound swordfish in Laguna Beach. It is a rare encounter to see a swordfish swimming in Southern California coastal waters. “It was the first time I filmed one with my drone,” the man wrote. In the publication he also described that he had only 120 seconds before the specimen was lost in the water. “Fish expert @lawofthelandnsea estimated that this swordfish weighs at least 227 kilos!”, can be read in the post, which has already managed to add hundreds of likes. On the official Instagram account of the Newport Coastal Adventure tourist group, it also published a video of the encounter with this marine species, whose specimens can measure more than four meters in length and weigh up to 650 kilos, according to the BioEncyclopedia. Nature lovers mentioned that it was not common to see these fish on the California coast. “This swordfish was found by us this weekend in Laguna Beach. Many people can say that they have seen a whale or dolphin before, but it is rarer to see one of these unique ocean creatures swimming freely in the wild," they explain in the publication in which a second clip is observed, captured from a boat. They reacted to the creature in California The virtual community did not let its admiration escape when they saw the recordings. “Oh my God, I have never seen one so big and so beautiful!”; "That is amazing"; “You have to love nature and the beauty of everything”; “The splendor before our eyes is all around. Thanks for that. It made my day and night happy”; “I was on that boat ride this weekend. It was absolutely epic,” were some of the reactions left by users between the publications. Swordfish are found in oceans around the world, but prefer tropical and temperate waters, explain marine species experts. It is possible to find this creature also in cold waters, as long as the temperature does not drop below 10°C. Although it lives in deep places, between 500 and 800 meters, at night it usually rises to the surface in search of food. https://www.lanacion.com.ar/estados-unidos/en-california-el-video-de-la-majestuosa-y-colorida-criatura-captada-en-la-costa-por-un-dron-nid28092023/
