[Auto] CUPRA León 2024 in Chile, the Spanish GTI returns with everything

It is said the better has to wait. In 2020, the new CUPRA León was presented globally, but with the pandemic in between, it seems that it is just reaching other markets. At least now our turn has come.

The arrival of the CUPRA León is important since it is CUPRA's first non-SUV car here in Chile. It must be remembered that before, CUPRA was the sports division of SEAT and this car was known as SEAT León CUPRA.

This new León will take the place of the SEAT model, rising in level and price. If before the SEAT León was the best alternative to have a Volkswagen Golf Mk.8, the new CUPRA León will be the hot hatch for the widowers of the Golf GTI and Golf R.

The most marked difference with its more urban counterpart at SEAT is the height, since it is a sportier model. The rest is almost modeled on the conventional León and I say almost, because obviously there are elements typical of the Spanish sports firm. For example, the bumpers are sportier, the wheels are larger and the colors are more malicious.

 

 

It is a sober car, but with a vibe, thanks to the copper-colored details or the choice of matte colors, much more malicious than a conventional Golf GTI.

The brand offers two versions, one standard and the other much more powerful called VZ. On the outside, only the size of the wheels differentiates them, 18 or 19 inches. Both share a Full LED lighting system with automatic ignition and Coming Home function, fog lights, panoramic sunroof, tinted windows and electric exterior mirrors with defroster, memory and automatic folding.

CUPRA León 2024: interior

The interior of the CUPRA León is similar to that of the León FR that was sold in Chile, but with a better feeling of quality and sportiness. The driving position is fantastic and the dashboard is discreetly oriented towards the driver.
