Among the indicators of the high priority that the Biden administration attaches to the Abraham Accords file are: Appointment of the US Ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, as Senior Advisor for Regional Integration at the US State Department.

In an exclusive interview for the program, Shapiro explained that regional integration is an opportunity for countries to work together in the region, to normalize relationships that may exist so that they can become partners in common challenges, and build economic opportunities for their citizens.

Shapiro said that since the signing of the Abraham Accords, Israeli cooperation with its Arab partners has witnessed a significant increase, as well as a noticeable increase in the proportion of commercial transactions between them, noting the presence of tourist trips between these countries, which enhances communication between the peoples of these countries, but he believes that all these achievements Insufficient to deepen relations between Israel and its Arab partners.

He pointed out that there are countries in the Middle East, Africa, and East Asia that are holding direct secret talks with Israel, and with partners in regional integration forums, about how to consolidate relations with Tel Aviv, but he was reluctant to mention the names of those countries. He explained that there is an active discussion taking place about the possibility of normalizing relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, and America is a major partner in those discussions, indicating that if this is achieved, it will be a major transformation.
