GlaD1 Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Some Diablo 4 fans are unhappy with the current state of Blizzard's game, and have high expectations for the second season which arrives in just a few days. More than a decade after Diablo III, its sequel finally saw the light of day in June of this year on PC and consoles PS4, PS5, Xbox Series and Xbox One. It must be said that fans were particularly enthusiastic about the idea of returning to the infernal and merciless universe of this hack’n’slash from Blizzard. Proof of its immediate success, Diablo IV sold more than 10 million copies as of June, and grossed $666 million in just five days. At JV, it was rated 17/20, illustrating to what extent its staging, its deep characters, its atmosphere and its ease of access are the strength of this fourth opus. However, our test highlights the fact that this title is not revolutionary in the genre either, which is to be deplored coming from a sequel appearing more than 25 years after the debut of this cult license from Blizzard. Some players have said they feel like the North American company, behind many iconic franchises like World of Warcraft, is resting on its laurels after Diablo's early glory days. In this sense, it is not uncommon to currently see players stating that they expect a lot from Diablo 4 season two before knowing if they should stop investing in this title. A season 2 to raise the esteem of Diablo 4 players? A few months after the release of Diablo 4, a large number of players came to the conclusion: this title is disappointing. Although it is far from being catastrophic, with its neat universe and its great accessibility, some fans of this license are becoming more and more bored and are no longer able to experience pleasure while traveling through the infernal lands of this title. A very sad observation after such a long wait... Thus, it is not uncommon to read testimonials from players on the Internet, explaining their disappointment and their expectations with regard to Diablo 4. For example, this Internet user named OutrageousProfile388 has said he was waiting to see how good Season 2 was before making the decision to stop playing it. Blizzard has its work cut out for Season 2 I'm cautiously excited about the next season. However, if this season is a failure, I probably won't return until a month after the annual expansion releases. I'm pretty down on Blizzard, a company I once held in high regard. I don't think I'll send them money again until players tell me they really delivered great content. In short, the repetitive content of seasons, without any new general additions from Blizzard, seems to frustrate some players. As a reminder, season two is arriving in a few days, more precisely on October 17. What's more, it is likely that the North American company will make various announcements about this franchise during Blizzcon during the weekend of November 3, such as the following season and a first expansion.
