FNX Magokiler
Between 2015 and 2018, Fernando Alonso lived his worst years in Formula 1. After failing to win the title with Ferrari, the Spaniard bet everything on the return of the McLaren-Honda duo, which in the late 80s and early 90s had dominated the World Cup, and which was formed again since 2015. The outcome is known to everyone, and is summarized in the remembered radio message from the two-time world champion to his team: “GP2 engine.” Now, at 42 years old and with a totally different present in F1, Alonso decided to sell one of the jewels of his garage, which has the peculiarity that it is practically new. Alonso's McLaren Elva: Exclusive and unused Through the Bonhams auction agency, Alonso put his McLaren Elva up for sale, a supercar launched by the British brand in 2019. Although the Spaniard bought it that year, it is a 2022 model, so, at most, it will have been just over a year in his possession. The extremely particular appearance of the Elva is linked to the fact that it is a tribute to the McLaren Elva M1, a model driven by Bruce McLaren in the early 60s, and which was the predecessor of the competition cars with which the Woking brand dominated in the Can-Am competitions between the end of the aforementioned decade and the beginning of the 70s. The McLaren Elva is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine, from the McLaren Senna, which delivers 815 HP (804 Hp) and 800 Nm. It works with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and is rear-wheel drive. In terms of performance, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and reaches 200 km/h in 6.7 seconds. Its maximum speed is 326 km/h. In addition to its particular mechanics and design, the Elva has active aerodynamics (used as a replacement for the windshield) and carbon fiber chassis. For its part, the cabin is for two people, who sit in competition-style seats. Another detail: to drive it or be a passenger, it is essential to wear a helmet. Alonso's Elva is unit number 114 of only 149 that were produced. The fact that he bought such an exclusive model means that he likes it, or at least that he bought it to drive it on several occasions. Well, apparently none of that happened, since the Elva's odometer barely shows five kilometers traveled. Alonso's McLaren Elva will be auctioned on November 25 in Abu Dhabi, coinciding with the close of the F1 season there (11/26). It is expected to sell for between 2.5 and 3 million dollars, with the Spaniard himself being the one who will hand over the keys to the new owner. The Elva's sale comes months after the Asturian driver himself sold his Ferrari Enzo, the number 1 made in Maranello, at a price of 5.8 million dollars. Will she be making room to buy some other jewelry? We will see. https://noticias.autocosmos.cl/2023/10/02/ni-lo-uso-fernando-alonso-se-deshace-de-su-exclusivo-mclaren-elva
