This Thursday, the company Aguas Andinas announced the start of works to modify sanitary infrastructure in six communes of Santiago, due to the construction of Line 7 of the Santiago Metro.

Under this scenario, a temporary cut of the drinking water supply will be made in six communes of the Metropolitan Region between Friday, October 6 and Sunday, October 8. From the company, they specified that the work will be carried out "on non-working days and prioritizing the hours of lower consumption, seeking to impact citizens and their work to a lesser extent."

The Customer Director of Aguas Andinas, Eugenio Rodríguez, explained that the company is “always available to collaborate with other sectors and carry out projects as relevant as this one that provide quality of life and connectivity for the inhabitants of Santiago. These works consider the modification of an aqueduct in our infrastructure to facilitate the continuation of the construction work on Metro line 7 and, to do so, we must work on moving part of our underground network.

Along these lines, he assured that the works and their dates "have been agreed upon and planned in advance with the authorities and communicated with due advance notice to the citizens, where an information campaign was also considered, seeking to impact the community to the least possible extent." .

 

 

Likewise, the environmental services company regretted “the inconveniences that these works may cause.” In that sense, they called on “the families affected by the suspension to take the necessary precautions for the hours in which the service will not be available, always thinking about responsible use of water.”

In addition, they highlighted that they will have 80 alternative supply points for the community.

When will the supply be cut off?
The cut is scheduled for Friday, October 6 and will last from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 8.

Which communes will it affect?
The works in question will be carried out by the environmental services company, at the request of Metro de Santiago in six communes in the northern and eastern sectors of the capital, which include the perimeter of the sector located between Av. Américo Vespucio streets to the north, Eliodoro Yáñez Avenue to the east; Av. 10 de Julio to the south; and Caupolicán to the west.
