Intel has given us great joy, apparently its new generation Meteor Lake processors will also reach desktop computers, something that catches us by surprise because at the beginning of the year the company itself announced that the project was canceled through from a leaked roadmap.

But it seems that plans sometimes turn out better than expected, and yes, we will also have these new CPUs on the desktop, the Meteor Lake-S. So let's see what we know so far.

Meteor Lake-S for desktop in 2024?
This time it is not a rumor or an assumption, since it was Michelle Johnston herself, Executive Vice President of Intel and General Director of the Client Computing Group who confirmed it in an interview given to PCWorld.

From it we can deduce that it won't take long to see them, since the original Meteor Lake, the ones that will be released for laptops, will be with us on December 14. It is believed that the desktop version could appear during the first half of 2024, we would not have to wait until the end of the following year.

The news was something that could happen, but to be honest we did not expect it, or at least not so soon. This generates high expectations and enthusiasm for next year, since these new processors can achieve a very notable improvement in our computers.

The new architecture, socket and other innovations make them something different and never seen before, offering improvements at the IPC level which translates into better performance with the same power. Therefore, higher frequencies are expected, with lower temperature and consumption.

On the one hand, we have the P-Core, which will debut the Redwood Cove architecture, and on the other, the E-Core, which will debut Crestmont.

We still lack a lot of data, such as the LP-E Core or the number of cores that we can see in them. We know that for laptops these will be 14, however, in desktop versions we could go a little higher, or that's what we would like.

For now the information does not go further, although for now it is enough to know that we are finally going to have them on all computer models, whether laptop or desktop, so the data will come out during these months, possibly more starting from the official departure in December.

We will be awaiting any information and will comment on it. We are already looking forward to seeing them in operation. 2024 looks very interesting with too many new features after this weak year. This joins a very long list where Artificial Intelligence prevails, the possible bet of the future.

And you, how do you see this news? Did you really expect that Intel would leave us without the desktop version or, on the contrary, do you think that they just had to ask, but that it was clear that it would come out?

In my opinion I expected it, although it was not announced so soon. But we will have to be cautious, this does not mean that we are going to see them now, the news could be delayed for a few months.
