FNX Magokiler
The MotoGP World Championship was completely open after the Indian Grand Prix, held at the Buddh International Circuit, which once hosted four Formula 1 races. The withdrawal of championship leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), along with stellar performances from his title rivals, has drastically changed the championship landscape. Bagnaia started the weekend with a 36-point lead over his closest rival, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac Racing), who did his job by winning Saturday's Sprint race, with "Pecco" taking second place. That reduced the difference to 33 points. And already in the Sunday race, Bagnaia was involved in a battle with the Pramac driver, which ended badly for the Italian, who leaves India with only 13 units ahead with 7 rounds left in the championship. An exciting career The worst thing for Bagnaia is that a third title contender appears on the scene: Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team), who made a statement in India with a perfect performance, to take the victory by 8.649 seconds over Martín, who leaves with a overwhelming sum of 32 points adding Saturday and Sunday. The trio of pilots at the helm of the intractable Ducati started very quickly from the start and separated themselves from the rest, with the VR46 pilot making fast laps that allowed him to move away, leaving behind the fight between Martín and Bagnaia. Near the end, the Italian made a small mistake and went down. Third place was inherited by Fabio Quartararo, who once again put the Yamaha on a podium after many races. The Frenchman could even have been second, but Martín, totally dehydrated and having trouble staying on the bike, managed to defend his final position. With these results, Bagnaia maintains his 292 points, followed by Martín with 279 and Bezzecchi with 248. Although there are other drivers who are mathematically in competition, sportingly they do not seem to be. The next date will be the Japanese Grand Prix, at the Motegi Circuit, to be held on October 1. PILOT CHAMPIONSHIP F. BAGNAIA (Ducati) - 292 J. MARTIN (Ducati) - 279 M. BEZZECCHI (Ducati) - 248 B.
