[Auto] The new Nissan Pathfinder for China is leaked before its official presentation

Last May, during the Shanghai Motor Show, the Nissan Pathfinder Concept was presented, a model with which the Japanese brand previewed what will be an exclusive variant of the large SUV, but for the main automotive market in the world: China.

It turns out that in the last few hours, the first images of the Pathfinder that will be sold there soon, produced by Nissan and the local firm Dongfeng, were leaked from the Asian country. Does it vary much from what was revealed four months ago? What else is known? We tell you here.

Nissan Pathfinder 2024 in China: Key Features

There were two photos that were leaked from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, in which practically the entire exterior of the Pathfinder that will be marketed in the eastern nation can be seen.

With respect to the concept presented by Nissan months ago, the SUV will incorporate almost all of its new features, highlighting the grille-optics set as the big difference with respect to the Pathfinder marketed in North American lands and also in our region (it arrived in Chile at the end of 2022 and we already tried it).

As for the front part, the only differences between the production model and the concept lie in the union of the optics, which is done by a chrome bar and not by an LED, and the absence of the “Pathfinder” nomenclature above the the aforementioned strip. Afterwards, everything was the same, including the stepped lights on the sides of the grill and the vertical (and false?) air vents on the bumper.

 

 

On the sides, the model that will reach the Chinese market has more conventional wheels and no roof bars, while at the back it loses the LED strip that joins the headlights in the concept, although it maintains the black plastic bar that performs the same function. Afterwards, it has the same lines and elements.

In May, Nissan presented a render of the interior of the Chinese Pathfinder, which was a modernization of the one used in the seven-seat SUV marketed on this side of the world. The leaks from the Chinese MITI did not reach the cabin, so we will have to wait for its launch to know more details.

Regarding the engine, it is expected that in China the Pathfinder will not be powered by the 3.5L V6 engine (270 Hp) that it uses in Chile. Due to tax issues, it would have a 2.0 Turbo, which produces 250 horsepower and works together with a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The traction? Comprehensive.

And which do you like better, the version with "retro" details sold here or the more futuristic version from China?
