As announced, the National Arbitration Directorate published the first VAR audios once date 4 of the 2023 Professional League Cup concluded with three matches as protagonists: San Lorenzo vs. Racing, Independent vs. Hurricane and Columbus vs. Central Rosary. A promise that was finally fulfilled after almost a year.

The general idea is to copy the system that is already used in Conmebol for the Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana: play between two and four games per day with the aim of advancing the transparency of the video assistance system in Argentine soccer. Of course, they have not yet indicated whether the matches are random or selected based on what happens each weekend.

The VAR audios in San Lorenzo vs. Racing
San Lorenzo took the lead 11 minutes into the first half, through a penalty converted by Federico Girotti. In the first instance, Fernando Rapallini did not sanction a handball inside the area by defender Gonzalo Piovi, although the collaboration from the technology booth was decisive in decreeing the maximum penalty.

And at 32, Rapallini saw a penalty for an apparent handball by Malcom Braida after a shot by Juan Fernando Quintero.

But the VAR corrected the decision and convinced the referee not to sanction the shot from the 12 steps in favor of the Academy.

The other controversies that have not yet been raised - and it is not known if they will - were those of Rafael Pérez's attack on Juan Ignacio Nardoni that the main referee, assisted from the technology booth, proceeded to show the red card to the Barça defender. , at 48 minutes. And Nazareno Colombo's elbow to Iván Leguizamón without a ball that was not even sanctioned with a yellow.

The VAR audios in Independiente vs. Hurricane
In this case, what was analyzed was an alleged hit in the face by Ignacio Pussetto to Felipe Aguilar, nine minutes into the second half. Although Facundo Tello did not see the attack, the VAR considered that the ex-Sampdoria's actions did not have intensity or force, and that it did not constitute a foul that deserves an intervention due to a red card, which is why it authorized the referee to restart the game.

The VAR audios in Colón vs. Central Rosary
At 19 minutes, after a long ball from Colón's field, Santiago Pierotti ran said delivery and scored over Jorge Broun, but in the rush to clear the ball, defender Juan Cruz Komar touched the ball with his hand and was expelled. At first, Pablo Echavarría had sent off the goalkeeper, but then he corrected his mistake through the VAR.
