It was created in 1989 by Empire Interactive, and was named after the famous English soccer player Paul Gascoigne ( whose nickname was Gazza).1 Versions In Holland and Germany it was published under the name Bodo Illgner's Super Soccer2 and in Scandinavia as Anders Limpar's Proffs Fotboll.3 The game has a sequel called Gazza II.4 Game development The game does not have scrolling. Instead, the field is divided into three zones that display on three different screens. In one you can see the center of the field from the side. When the ball leaves the screen towards one of the two goals, another screen is seen with a central overhead view (as if there were a camera flying in the center of the field with the corresponding goal at the top).5 The game also incorporates a triangle that indicates the height and effect that each shot the player makes takes,6 which makes it easier to handle. Gazza II is a football video game developed for Amstrad CPC, Amstrad GX4000,1 ZX Spectrum, Amiga 500/600, Atari ST, Commodore 64 and PC systems. It was released by Empire Interactive in 1990, and is named after the famous English footballer Paul Gascoigne (whose nickname is Gazza).2 It is the sequel to Gazza's Superstar Soccer.3 The title is also part of the Soccer Stars compilation of soccer video games.4 References Comment on 05/14/2007 about the cartridge version of Gazza II on cpcmania.com (in English) Gazza II on MobyGames (in English) Gazza II at hol.abime.net (in English) Gazza II in World of Spectrum (in English) (in English) external links Gazza II at ysrnry.co.uk (in English) Stadium64 Reviews Archive: Gazza II (in English) CPC Games review - G at cpcgamereviews.com (in English) Gazza II at www.zee-3.com/pickfordbros (in English)
