Dia Mirza is a true-blue sustainability queen, from being awarded ‘Greenpreneur of the Year 2023’ to opting for environmentally-friendly fashion choices. Her commitment to a greener and better Earth knows no bounds.

 

Recently, for the launch of Planet India, a visual storytelling initiative to celebrate India’s solutions to the climate and nature crisis, Dia chose a completely recycled outfit from the shelves of Tilla by Aratrik Dev Varman.

 

Styled by costume designer and celebrity stylist, Theia Tekchandaney, Dia wore a oversized midi dress, teamed with a cape-length jacket. The Prussian blue long dress featured geometric patterns in shades of white with a long full-sleeve shrug.

 

She accessorised it with silver oxidised jhumkas and black shoes. With her tresses done in soft curls and subtle makeup, including black eyeliner, mascara-laden eyelashes, contoured cheeks and nude lipstick, she completed her look!

 

Thanking the designer for making a difference, she talked about the ‘Recycled Project’ — a zero-waste project by Tilla in collaboration with Soach, an NGO in Gujarat, India.

 

“It generates sustained work for a group of women in Pindharada and nearby villages while encouraging them to explore their own artistic expression,” she wrote. “The project uses cutting fallouts from our workshop, which the women sew into patchwork textiles for clothing and quilts. By incorporating these scrap fabrics into new designs, we ensure no part of the labour that has gone into their making is wasted.”

 

This is not the first time Dia has made a statement in sustainable clothing. Previously, the actor donned a printed ‘bloom-moon’ co-ord set from sustainable fashion brand, Ekastories, for a meeting with the CEO of Wildlife Trust of India last year.

 

Her co-ord set featured a pastel orange blazer and pair of matching straight-fit pants, adorned with digitally-printed floral motifs throughout the ensemble. She let the outfit do the talking and opted for minimal jewellery and brown flats. Her sleek hairdo and nude makeup finished her look!
