The Chinese Cooking Association usually publishes from time to time classifications of all kinds referring to the situation of the sector in the Asian country.

One of those lists refers to the most po[CENSORED]r fast food chains, and it is that these types of restaurants are becoming increasingly po[CENSORED]r in China and show strong growth within the culinary field.

What the report shows, among other things, is that despite the dominance of Western brands, new local fast food restaurants are carving out an important niche in the sector.

The history of fast food restaurants in China is not very long, since the first to land was Kentucky Fried Chicken in 1987, having to spend three more years to see a second western chain land (McDonald's).

So what are the most po[CENSORED]r fast food chains in China? Let's see the classification presented by the Chinese Cuisine Association:

1 Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)
Without a doubt, KFC is the king of fast food in China. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that it was the first to arrive from the West presenting this particular format.

The story of its success has led to the writing of a book, although according to what they say, the po[CENSORED]rity of chicken in China added to the adaptation to local tastes have been its two main weapons.

2 McDonald's
The silver medal goes to McDonald's, the well-known hamburger franchise. Since they opened their first restaurant in 1990 in Shenzhen they have not stopped expanding. 5 dicos
You could say that Dicos is the Chinese version of KFC, since its specialty is fried chicken. This chain has a long history, since it opened its first restaurant back in 1994 and today it already has more than 2,000.

6 Royal Kung Fu
Perhaps what most attracts the attention of this Asian chain, at least at first glance, is its peculiar logo, inspired by Bruce Lee.
It is characterized by its simple dishes inspired by Asian food at very reasonable prices.

7Country Style Cooking
Country Style Cooking ( Xiāngcūnjī , 乡村 基) offers something akin to what we might call “Chinese home cooking”, within the scope of a fast food chain. With its more than 600 restaurants, they offer all kinds of classic dishes like Kung Pao chicken.

8 Ajisen Ramen
This Japanese ramen chain sneaks into the list, which has been able to establish more than 700 restaurants in the Asian country, in addition to having many others in other countries around the world.

9 Yonghe King
This po[CENSORED]r franchise basically bases its products on Chinese noodles, although its menu is quite diverse and it especially promotes breakfasts for those who have to get to work early and don't have time to prepare something at home.

10 Yoshinoya
We finish the list with the second Japanese chain on the list, whose generous dishes and not so "fast" to eat make this franchise less fast food space than the rest.
