The bucardo (Capra pyrenaica pyrenaica) is a subspecies of extinct ibex. This subspecies of Iberian ibex has been in danger of extinction since the beginning of the 20th century, and was listed as a "critically endangered species" (CR) by the IUCN Specialist Caprinae Group in 1997.

I lived in the Pyrenees. It was a subspecies of the Iberian mountain goat, a unique animal, it only lived there, and we have exterminated it. The last specimen died, when it was already protected, but in the dumbest way in the world: a tree fell on top of it.The bucardo of the Pyrenees, the only animal in history that has become extinct twice.
