There are many users who own this console who in recent weeks have reported problems with their micro SD cards to the point that they have stopped working, or all their data has been deleted unexpectedly.

Everything seems to come from the high temperatures and the place where this storage unit would be, very close to the maximum point of heat and which would be the cause of the error and damage to them.

ASUS acknowledges its mistake
Until now, the brand had not spoken and all users had to see how their card stopped working without knowing exactly why.

A few days ago, several people found the key, and demonstrated how they suffered from high temperatures for which they were not designed, although it is true that having a high-quality micro SD could avoid many of the occasions, but that is not excuse for ASUS.

Now he has been a person in charge of the company itself, who has issued a statement on Discord where he acknowledges that everything said by users on the internet is real and that indeed the problem comes from there. We leave you the exact statements so that you can read it and understand it better.

Good night all. HQ has released a new statement about his work on the Ally SD card reader.

We want to thank the community for the passionate response we've received for ROG Ally.

Your support has been immense and invaluable, so we have been working hard to improve various things. After confirmation of internal tests, under certain thermal stress conditions, the SD card reader may malfunction.

To alleviate the issue, we will be releasing an update that further adjusts the default and minimum fan speeds on the device to improve reliability while keeping fan noise in check as we know this is a concern for many of you. .

If you are currently experiencing issues with your SD card reader, please contact cl-adrian@asus.com (USA) or contact customer support in your region to RMA your unit, which we will inspect at search for any problem and repair.

This is a relief to everyone, at least because it looks like they will take responsibility if damage occurs due to this issue. However, we have many doubts.

The manufacturing error cannot be avoided, and solutions such as increasing the fan speed will only result in less autonomy for the console, as well as more noise. It will work, but at the cost of losing other features. So we see a very serious problem, difficult to fix. At least until they launch another device, where we sense that they will change their design.

What we do know is that we can't do anything, just avoid playing in places where it's very hot or in direct sunlight. And keep in mind that the SD could lose all your data, so remember to make copies or at least buy a good quality one that tries to avoid this overheating as much as possible.
