He became known as a member of the boy band One Direction. In 2010, Horan auditioned as a solo contestant on British competition The X Factor. After being phased out as solo artists, Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson were reunited in a band. After the band's hiatus in 2016, Horan signed a deal as a solo artist with Capitol Records. Her singles "This Town" and "Slow Hands" from her debut studio album, Flicker (2017) reached the top 20 in several countries. The album debuted at number one in Ireland and the US, as well as charting in the top three in Australia and the UK. He embarked on the Flicker Sessions Tour (2017) and the Flicker World Tour (2018) in support of the album. Horan's second studio album Heartbreak Weather was released on March 13, 2020 and debuted at number four in the US and number one in the UK, Ireland and Mexico. Niall was born on September 13, 1993 in Mullingar in Ireland. He is the son of Maura Gallagher and Bobby Horan, and has an older brother named Greg, his parents separated when he was a child. Horan tried to play the guitar that his brother played for Christmas, but he wasn't able to play it. Horan, then 11 years old, learned to play the guitar by following YouTube tutorials.
