  • Other Information: Kylie Ann Minogue OBE OA /mᵻˈnoʊɡ/ (born 28 May 1968), often referred to mononymously as Kylie,[4][5] is an Australian singer, songwriter, actress, record producer and television personality. With sales of over 80 million records worldwide, Minogue is the Australian artist who has sold the most units of all time and has been recognized for reinventing herself in music and fashion, being referred to by the European press as the "Princess of Pop " and a style icon. Born and raised in Melbourne, Minogue began her career as a child actress, appearing in the soap opera The Sullivans (1979), as well as in the television series Skyways (1980) and The Henderson Kids (1985), where she landed a prominent role. She later achieved national recognition starring in the soap opera Neighbors (1986-88).
  • She decided to venture out as a recording artist in the late 1980s, releasing four bubblegum pop and dance pop-influenced studio albums produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, accumulating several top ten singles in the UK and Australia, including "I Should Be So Lucky", "The Loco-Motion", "Hand on Your Heart" and "Better the Devil You Know". Taking greater creative control over her music, Minogue released the albums Kylie Minogue (1994) and Impossible Princess (1997), receiving positive reviews but lesser commercial success. In 2000, she returned to mainstream dance music with Light Years, which was preceded by the single "Spinning Around". From the next album, Fever (2001), the track "Can't Get You Out of My Head" was taken, which became one of the most successful singles of that decade, selling more than five million units.
  • Minogue continued reinventing her image and experimenting with a variety of genres on her next albums, which produced hit singles such as "Slow", "2 Hearts" and "All the Lovers". With the release of Disco in 2020, she became the first female artist to have at least one album at the top of the UK charts for five consecutive decades. Minogue made her film debut in The Delinquents (1989) and played Cammy in Street Fighter (1994). She also appeared in the films Moulin Rouge! (2001), Jack & Diane, Holy Motors (2012) and San Andreas (2015). In 2014, the artist appeared as a judge and technician on the third seasons of The Voice UK and The Voice Australia.
  • During her career, she has been honored with numerous awards, including a Grammy, three Brit Awards and 17 ARIA Music Awards. At the 25th anniversary of the ARIA Music Awards in 2011, she was inducted by the Australian Recording Industry Association into the ARIA Hall of Fame. Her honors include appointments to the Order of the British Empire and Order of Arts and Letters for her musical and cultural contributions. Minogue was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Health Sciences (D.H.Sc.) by Ruskin University of Anglia for her work in breast cancer awareness. Her other endeavors include product endorsements, children's books, fashion, and charity work.
