After releasing two extended plays (EP), "Did You Hear the Rain?" in October 2013 and "Cassy O'" in March 2014, Ezra rose to prominence with the release of his single Budapest, which reached the top 10 in several countries around the world, reaching number one in Austria, New Zealand and the Czech Republic. His debut album, Wanted on Voyage, released on June 30, 2014, reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and within the top ten of seven other nations. In the UK it was the third best-selling album of that year, behind only Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith. Before his success, Ezra was considered one of the bets for 2014 by MTV, VEVO and iTunes, in addition to being ranked fifth in the BBC Sound of... poll that same year. Ezra was born and raised in Hertford, an hour from London, England. His parents are teachers and he has two siblings, a younger one, Ethan, and an older one, Jessica, who accompany him on his tours.
