The Toyota Yaris has always been one of the most interesting urban on the market. Only available in a hybrid format for a long time, its propulsion system stood out for its efficiency and had really low consumption in the city, which is its favorite terrain. However, that range limited to a single mechanic was one of the big drawbacks we got out of it. The Japanese brand has seemed to hear our prayers and presents the Toyota Yaris Hybrid 130 to give a new option to the customer that could become the most interesting.

It introduces extra power that will satisfy the most demanding customer, while maintaining the level of efficiency that its hybrid propulsion system has always offered. In addition, they take the opportunity to improve it at the equipment level. The main change it has had is that the fifth-generation hybrid transaxle is added to the 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle combustion engine. That translates to a new, larger and more powerful electric motor-generator, plus a revised power control unit (PCU). The result is 12% more power and better driving sensations.

As its name suggests, the new variant develops 130 hp and 185 Nm of torque, a figure that has also increased by 30% compared to the other version (which will also remain on the market). Logically, the changes have a direct impact on its benefits. It is half a second faster in acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, now it does it in 9.2 seconds; while it has a recovery from 80 to 120 km/h in 7.5 seconds. All this without affecting its efficiency, since CO2 emissions remain low and remain between 96 and 116 g/km.

With this new Toyota Yaris Hybrid 130, sensations are gained behind the wheel thanks to its improved responsiveness. This propulsion system is available by default in the Premiere Edition and GR Sport versions, although it can also be optionally chosen with other finishes. In fact, the brand takes the opportunity to introduce some improvements in its equipment. The Toyota T-Mate, this package of driving aids, is more complete and also adds a new multimedia system and data communication module (DCM) with remote updates.
