Alex Seropian, founder of the Industrial Toys studio who was working on the Electronic Arts mobile game, points to the poor reception and rule changes from Apple

Que Battlefield 2042 fuera tan mal recibido provocó la desaparición de otro juego de EA, aunque hay otro gran responsable del cierre de Battlefield Mobile

Earlier this year we learned of the announcement of the cancellation of Battlefield Mobile, an adaptation of the Electronic Arts shooter franchise to mobile devices that finally did not see the light of day (it only carried out a testing phase), unlike the one that was also closed. Apex Legends Mobile, which was available on iOS and Android.
Alex Seropian, founder of Industrial Toys, which is the study responsible for this adaptation that made EA disappear, has explained in Mobilegamer.biz the reasons why Battlefield Mobile was wiped off the map by the company. Most surprising of all, he takes aim at Battlefield 2042, explaining that the poor reception of Battlefield 2042 due to its disastrous launch was a key factor in the closure of the project.

"During the last year several things happened. Battlefield 2042 was released and the reaction from the community was not good. This caused a lot of introspection," explains Seropian, who assured that before that everything was going well because the genre of mobile shooters were growing and they had a big IP on their hands.

Apple was also responsible
But the founder of the studio, who also ended up shutting down along with a team of 120 people, not only blames the disastrous launch of Battlefield 2042, but also Apple:

"Apple also changed the IDFA rules [paid distribution], meaning it made user acquisition much more expensive. Because of that, organic growth was affected by the 2042 launch, and paid distribution was became quite a bit more expensive per the IDFA rules".

Finally, Alex Seropian also slides that the closure of Apex Legends Mobile also had something to do. "Then Apex came out and I don't know if EA has explained why they canceled it, if it was for economic reasons or whatever, but without me saying anything you could fill in the blanks, I guess," he explains, to end by making it clear that, according to him, Electronic Arts did not have confidence in the project nor did it invest enough time and money after the testing phase.
