FNX Magokiler
There are games that it is better to leave alone, or at least, that is what we ask the fans who still hold their rights and want to continue exploiting them after decades. That is the case of this title, which will soon hit stores (mostly digital) and that no one had remembered about it except for those retro meetings that bring together old gamers from the 80s from time to time. A renewed operation The fact is that the new one chosen to have a second (or third) life has been Operation Wolf, Taito's classic for arcade games, which was originally launched in 1987 and had adaptations for all platforms of the time: from microcomputers from 8 bits like ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, MSX or Amstrad CPC, to consoles like NES, etc. You will surely remember its development: a stage moves before us in a horizontal scroll, from left to right or vice versa, while enemies appear on the screen, shooting everything they have at hand: soldiers with machine guns, helicopters with missiles and onlookers passing by. there and that, coincidentally, they carry a machete to throw it at our heads without thinking twice. Well, Operation Wolf Returns is the name with which we will enjoy this approach again, only with a small change: we will be able to start shooting and feel the shooting in the first person thanks to virtual reality because, initially, we will have versions for the PS VR 2 from PlayStation 5, Meta Quest 2 and Pico 4 glasses that can be connected to a PC (although they are also independent). It will have more versions at the end of the year Operation Wolf Returns will initially be an exclusive VR game that will be released on June 22, but the company responsible for these adaptations has already warned that before the end of 2023 we will have normal versions for consoles and PC. That includes PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. In the case of Microsoft platforms and computers, its distribution will be exclusively digital, while in the others we will be able to get hold of it thanks to physical editions of day one calls. As we tell you, from Operation Wolf Returns we can expect few changes in its mechanics where we simply have to look for the enemy with the screen peephole and shoot him before he does. An approach that in the 80s, in the heat of the success of arcade games, seemed to many of us the sum of entertainment, but 36 years later things have changed a lot. Hence, in certain cases, such as those classics from the first decade of video game history, it is better to leave them alone and let them rest forever because although their success and memories are indelible, their mechanics have already been surpassed by many others. more complex and attractive. And except for Tetris, which does not matter how many years pass, those old arcade formulas are falling into disuse and they are not exactly the reason why millions of players continue to enjoy video games. Don't you think? We'll still give Operation Wolf Returns a try. It's the least he deserves. https://hardzone.es/noticias/juegos/operation-wolf-regresa-como-juego-realidad-virtual/
