Along these lines, the reactions of parliamentarians to the initiative have been mixed. For some, this does comply with the Supreme Court and provides certainty to the people, but for others it is the opposite.

While Sergio Gahona (UDI) criticized the Executive for the delay in presenting the initiative and questioned whether it would reach the deadline set by the highest court: "I would tell the government to already think about requesting an extension and we can have a adequate bill, because with these deadlines we will not arrive."
