[Politics] President Boric casts his vote in Punta Arenas: "I have confidence in the wisdom of the Chilean people"

What you need to know -The 50 members of the Constitutional Council (25 women and 25 men) are elected, who must draft a new Constitution for the country.

-The ballot receiving tables work between 08:00 and 18:00. -Each voter will receive a single ballot and vote for a candidate.

Those who are in the indigenous register will be able to choose between this facsimile or the general one. -To vote, an identity card or passport is required.

These expired documents are accepted from January 1, 2020. -Voting is mandatory for all voters in Chile. Those who reside abroad do not vote.

Fines for not voting go up to $189,000. -It is only recorded when being more than 200 km from the polling place.

-Those who work this Sunday must have 2 hours to go vote. -Pregnant women, people with disabilities and voters from 60 years of age upwards have preference to vote during the entire process.

Before entering he gave a few brief statements, in which he stated: "I have confidence in the wisdom of the Chilean people. My expectation is that we deepen democracy."
