Born in 1938 in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. He had a complicated and conflictive childhood but he has always been closely linked to music, learning to play the guitar by going to classes that he paid for or exchanging them for work. He began his film career in 1958, working as an extra in the film El Ángel de España and after continuing to play other roles, in 1960 he presented his first short film as a director: El Amigo. Favio is considered a successful and respected cult director. Some of his great works are Chronicle of a single child in 1964 and The Dependent in 1969. As a singer he made his debut in 1968 and recorded his first LP, and the following year the second titled "Leonardo Favio" arrived. He managed to achieve success throughout Latin America. In 1976 they forced him to leave his country and he undertook a tour of Latin America. After 11 years of exile, Leonardo Favio manages to return to Argentina and restart his career as a filmmaker and continues his career as a singer-songwriter.
