    He was born in Fíos, Asturias, in 1935. He sang for the first time in public at the age of 8 on the radio of the Santander station.

    He moved to Madrid to study Commerce at the same time that he would study singing at the conservatory. Indalecio Cisneros was the one who discovered her looking for a voice that would recover pre-war cuplés in falsetto. She also stood out for her resemblance in her voice to the famous Raquel Meller.

    She worked on radio ads. The two great cupletistas of the moment were Lilian de Celis and Sara Montiel.

    In 1957 she made her debut at Circo Price and at the Albéniz theater with some of her hits: "La chica del 17", "Polichinela" or "las tardes del Ritz".
    Throughout her career, De Celis has shot numerous films and plays, as well as collaborating in magazines and television.
