After ten years of service, the time is drawing near to say goodbye to the latest version of Valve's game.

La beta de Counter-Strike 2 se acaba, pero ya hay una fecha clave para el futuro del juego: El final de Global Offensive parece inminente

After having carried out playable tests for just over a month, Valve is closing access to the Counter-Strike 2 beta. Over the last few hours, many players who participated in this phase of testing the tactical shooter have Received a message when trying to play: "Matchmaking failed. You can't start matchmaking because your client is running the Counter-Strike beta. Please quit the beta and restart the game." So far, the developers have not clarified if it is a permanent termination or there are plans to re-enable the service over the next few days.

Counter-Strike 2 is coming soon
The Counter-Strike 2 beta hadn't accomplished anything for several weeks. This test offered a single map and game mode, which inevitably lowered community interest. During the last few weeks, it was even difficult to find games. Players reported waiting times of up to an hour to continue enjoying this new version that will replace Global Offensive. In this sense, the possible closure has not worried the players either. The change, rather, has served to reactivate the community for the launch of the game.

When it was announced at the end of March, Valve promised to announce more details about Counter-Strike 2 as it got closer to its release. Since then, the developer has hardly made a statement regarding the new version of the title and has not specified its release date either. All we know is that it will arrive at some indeterminate time in the summer of 2023. In this sense, it is to be expected that the new situation of the beta will give rise to the distribution of new information by the company.

Cs2 Fallo

Valve is not a company used to keeping players informed. At a time when the communication section has become a priority for many developers, the creators of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive maintain old practices that create a climate of greater uncertainty. In part, that's what turned the CS2 announcement into a coup the likes of which we've rarely seen in recent years. However, this situation may also be responsible for keeping players on edge for the next few days.

A key date for the future of Counter-Strike
Next Monday, May 8, the BLAST Major in Paris begins, which will be the last major tournament in history played in Global Offensive. On the occasion of the event, a definitive update should be introduced in the video game that includes some usual additions when this type of celebration takes place, such as the classic collection of stickers or the 'viewer pass'. In fact, Counter-Strike players already received an 'update' with new skins a few days ago as part of the preparation for the launch. Additionally, it is hoped that the future of the video game will be clarified before the end of the Major on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
