A recent report suggests that Microsoft plans to launch its store xbox mobile games next year. In recent years, the tech giant has tried to expand its presence in the gaming space, mainly through high-end acquisitions and its Xbox Game Pass service. Now, it looks like Microsoft intends to expand further with mobile. Of course, the company's gaming ambitions are no secret. Its list of acquisitions over the past five years includes the likes of Playground Games, Ninja Theory and ZeniMax Media, with the Bethesda owner costing Microsoft $7.5 billion. Alongside these acquisitions, the tech giant has also seen success with its subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, which has helped push the Xbox platform's monthly active user base to more than 120 million over the past quarter. With mobile gaming looking like the next frontier for Xbox, it looks like the company is preparing to gain a foothold in this space. In an interview with the Financial Times, Xbox boss Phil Spencer reaffirmed Microsoft's plans to launch an Xbox-branded mobile store on Android and iOS. He pointed to the upcoming EU Digital Markets Law, which is intended to force players like Apple and Google to change the way apps are distributed across ecosystems. This will take effect on May 2, 2023, and digital custodians identified through the Act will have to comply by March 6, 2024. This means that Microsoft could technically launch its Xbox app store on iOS and Android as early as March 2023. 2024. https://www.egames.news/xbox/La-tienda-de-Xbox-para-moviles-podria-llegar-el-proximo-ano-20230320-0002.html
