Mr.Hacker
One of the differential features of cats is their tongue, since it has a texture similar to sandpaper and, at first glance, it seems that it is covered with hair. Actually, it is not fur, but rather pointed spines called papillae. These fine structures contain an empty cavity at the tip that plays a key role in cat grooming. According to a study carried out by National Geographic, this "U"-shaped hole is responsible for collecting saliva from the mouth and then distributing it through the hair when the animal grooms itself, which keeps it clean and fresh.
