#Wittels-
When the renewal of the KTM 390 Duke arrived in 2017, the changes occurred on the aesthetic and electronic side. The chassis remained unchanged, despite the fact that the new design made it look more attractive and the engine architecture did not receive any modifications either. Yes, it's true, with a larger radiator, a notable improvement in the injection and the incorporation of the electronic accelerator, full LED lighting, a design in line with the beasts of the brand, and an electronic package worthy of another segment, the Duke The second generation 390 marked a major leap from the first. In the international media they are talking about a Duke 2024, but although this motorcycle is expected to reach the first dealers at the beginning of next year, the truth is that we will see the production model this year, and It seems that we are not that far from that happening, since the images that were leaked could well represent a final version. Yes, camouflaged mules have been seen circulating. Yes, major changes have been noted. But it is the first time that such a photo has been filtered. And with this photo of a motorcycle that hides nothing, a lot of new things come to light that can be seen in this blue and orange unit that reminds us of the combination of the 990 Adventure with the fenders that stood out so much. Of all that is obvious, beyond the aesthetic, is the presence of a completely new frame, subframe, rear swingarm and mono-shock. The main frame has a lot to do with the design that the 790-890 have adopted, although in this case the engine does not seem to be a structural part of it, and the arrangement and anchorage of the rear monoshock with respect to the chassis and displaced on the right side of the motorcycle. On the front bars you can see the red WP Apex compression adjust knob. And the second detail, with the same level of importance, is that you can see changes in the engine, starting with the clutch cover, a new arrangement of the oil filter, the engine oil level viewer, the filler cap and the coolant reservoir. At least they have redesigned an important part of the engine, we will see what real novelties this new 390 Duke comes with, which also has a different exhaust routing on the right side as well. Other firsts for the bike include a new front brake disc mounted directly on the outside of the acoustic rim with a four-piston radial mount caliper that appears to still be supplied by ByBre. From the design you can see a new fuel tank with some plastic wraps that go well forward, change a lot of muscle to the silhouette of the bike and flanking a radiator that seems to be of good size. Also a new front optics, which cannot be seen from the front but it is noticeable that its format changes, while some parts that surround it seem to be missing. And finally there are changes in the instrumentation and in the pineapples of the commands of lights, starting, turns, etc. All that can be seen in just one photo is that the changes for the new Duke give us the hint that it is a generation change in the model, much deeper than the one mentioned above. And KTM has plenty of room to increase the performance of this mechanic without going over the limit of the A2, so you can expect a lot from this new Duke. Interesting, because it will not come alone, since its cousin the Husqvarna 401 -Vit and Svart- also began to show itself.
