Draeno Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Unusual find on a beach in Sant Antoni de Calonge: a dead shark. The animal was found on the beach of Es Monestrí and measured about two and a half meters in length. It happened this Tuesday morning. Several Witnesses alerted the local police in Palamós that there was a dying animal on the coast. The agents certified that it was a shark, cordoned off the area and alerted the Rural Agents. The animal died and the Rurales pointed out that the shark was an unprotected species (Hexanchus griseus) and common in the Mediterranean area. The Palamós Police handed over the case to the Local Police of Calonge and Sant Antoni, since the discovery was already in the municipality of Calonge. The beach of Es Monestrí is located on the limits of both municipalities of the Costa Brava (Palamós and Calonge and Sant Antoni). https://www.elperiodico.com/es/sociedad/20230426/tiburon-muerto-playa-sant-antoni-calonge-86512572
