Although Counter-Strike 2 is just around the corner, Valve has released a patch with new content for Global Offensive.

The announcement of Counter-Strike 2 presaged that great news would no longer come to Global Offensive. However, Valve had a score to settle with the current version of its tactical shooter. To settle it, it has introduced what will probably be the last update that adds content to the video game. It is a patch that includes a total of 19 skins belonging to the so-called Anubis Collection. Thus, the new cosmetics will be available through the boxes that we can obtain throughout the next Major. In addition, and it seems that temporarily, they can be purchased directly in the game for 1.89 euros. It has not yet been confirmed if the collection will join the 'weekly drops' for leveling up.

A must update for Counter-Strike
Although it may sound strange that new skins are added to Global Offensive given the upcoming release of Counter-Strike 2, the truth is that this was a practically mandatory update for Valve. Anubis is a relatively new map. It was added to Counter-Strike in 2020 as part of a temporary event, was removed a year later, and returned to stay in August 2022. This last time, the developers decided to add it to the rotation of active duty scenarios, taking over. from Dust 2. This means that it is available in professional games.

Starting next May 8, the Blast Major in Paris will begin, the last major Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition. In these big tournaments, Valve markets a "Viewer Pass" with which players can obtain different rewards, among which is a limited number of special loot boxes from the maps in active service. Anubis, being a recently introduced scenario, still did not have its own 'lootbox'. As expected, since the collection has just been released, the prices of skins in the community market are very unstable and high. It is expected that the value will decrease in a general way as the days go by and, above all, once the Major in Paris is held. Among the most outstanding cosmetics are those of CT. M4A4, FAMAS and P250 receive skins of the highest rarities. The alternatives for the attacking side, although interesting, are of less value.
