HeWhoRemains™
Electronic Arts ends the mobile version of the battle royale for not reaching the expected 'quality bar'. Battlefield Mobile has been canceled to 'fulfill the vision' of the saga. Electronic Arts has announced that it will stop supporting Apex Legends Mobile, the iOS and Android mobile phone version of Apex Legends that was released in mid-May last year, while also canceling Battlefield Mobile, which received its first open beta in November last year, before its official release. On the other hand, the company will also close Industrial Toys, the studio behind the development of pocket Battlefield, which was founded by Alex Seropian, former Bungie CEO, and acquired by EA in 2018. The Apex Legends Mobile servers will no longer be available as of May 1 of this year. "At Respawn, our goal is to offer players games that are consistent. After a strong start, the content pipeline for Apex Legends Mobile has begun to fall short of that bar of quality, quantity, and cadence. For this reason, after months of Working with our development partner, we have made a mutual decision to end our mobile game," we can read in the statement. "Although disappointing, we are proud of the game we released, we appreciate the support of the Apex Legends community, and we are confident that this is the right decision for players," he adds. Despite this situation, Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, revealed in a presentation of the company's financial results that the company has learned a lot from its experience with the game and that it "plans to reimagine an Apex Legends Mobile experience in the future". Additionally, it has been reported that virtual currency balances from the title can be spent on in-game content until its closure, while real money purchases will not be refunded. Why has Battlefield Mobile been cancelled? Regarding Battlefield Mobile, EA has stated in a brief part of the statement that "as the industry has evolved and our strategy to create a deeply connected Battlefield ecosystem has taken shape, we have decided to pivot from the current direction to meet better with our vision for the franchise and meeting the expectations of our players." https://vandal.elespanol.com/noticia/1350759665/ea-dejara-de-dar-soporte-a-apex-legends-mobile-y-cancela-battlefield-mobile/
