Normally, when Apple launches a new iPhone model on the market, the company takes advantage and sifts through the catalog by stopping selling some of the older generations that were officially on the shelves. And it will happen when we see the iPhone 15, but it seems that at a higher level than usual.

The Chinese website MyDrivers has published through its sources the models that would be discarded with the arrival of the iPhone 15, and although part of them are foreseeable, there are movements that some would not be saddened by. It depends on the models you prefer, of course.

 

Goodbye to the "iPhone mini"
Right now Apple (officially) sells the following iPhone models:

iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 14 Pro
iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro
iPhone 12
iPhone SE 3
With the arrival of the iPhone 15 and according to MyDrivers, the iPhone models that would stop selling are:

iPhone 12: Apple would stop selling this generation, and would go on to deliver repaired iPhone 13 models to those who need repairs for a damaged iPhone 12.

 

iPhone 13 mini: the few sales of this terminal and the arrival of a new generation may make Apple say goodbye to its iPhone mini for good. For me, a real last.
iPhone 14 Plus: Apple would stop selling this model in favor of the iPhone 15 Plus, which would continue with its same size and strategy. Two "Plus" models would get in the way of each other in the catalogue.
Of course, these models could continue to be sold in unofficial stores (and also with discount prices). It will depend on the amount of stock that remains and the desire to destroy it on the part of the sellers.

We will also be waiting to see which iPhone models enter the list of old or obsolete products, but for that we will have to wait until September. And before comes WWDC 2023, which this year can be historic with the presentation of the expected Reality Pro.
