A true vintage custom bike with a Bobber look. The motorcycle has been built by Lord Drake Kustoms in collaboration with a workshop in Vélez Málaga.

Fran Manen, owner of Lord Drake Kustom often gets questions like Do you only build Cafe Racers or Sportster Scrambers? Are you going to stop working with Harley?

His answer was the Bobber custom, Old School motorcycle, a true Harley, American with character.

THE SPRINGER VINTAGE
The base is a 2005 Harley-Davidson Softail with a 1450 twin cam engine.

The Springer Vintage, a customized Harley-Davidson
This bike was customized in the Lord Drake Kustoms motorcycle workshop in Miami and “SDT” are the initials of the name of the owner of the bike transformed on this occasion.

I did not want to use the typical and cheap Springer Aftermarket forks, so it was clear, you had to start with a very simple base to choose from, so it was decided to use the Harley Softail.

And for the most radical and authentic result, a Softail with an authentic Springer front end.

PROCESS
The first thing was to strip the chassis to the point of removing the oil tank along with all the original engine and transmission covers from the Harley Twin Cam.

A handcrafted rear fender and oil tank, plus all fittings, fuel tank base and base and complete seat. The handlebars and exhaust pipes were all made by Lord Drake Kustoms. Also accompanied was a Sportster peanut-type fuel tank.

Finally, a pair of amazing 21″ big spoke wheels up front, give this Harley Bobber a great look.

The rest of the engine and transmission covers on this Harley Bobber Softail have been treated from stock chrome to textured powder coat black. The finishes were very simple: pure steel with the rust that characterizes it and semi-gloss lacquer to protect it on the fenders and fuel tank. Textured or gloss black and red powder coat paint was also applied to the edge of the rims.

Commissioned by the owner of the motorcycle, the upholstery of the bobber seat was made with the same leather that Ferrari uses for the interior panels of its cars.

We must not forget the essence in this world of personalization and transformation of motorcycles, from which this trend is born. Without Harleys, today we probably wouldn't know the term custom bike and all that it stands for today.
