HeWhoRemains™ Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Jabo H. Pizarroso reveals to us the censorship that was implemented for 40 years in the United States and that was based on the Hays Code, which had three principles of a very broad nature. The filmmakers used ingenuity and complicity to overcome censorship and tell what they really wanted Oh, the censored kisses and more! We return to the celebration of International Kissing Day to approach a moment in the History of Culture of the last twentieth century in which for almost forty years a censorship code was implemented in the United States that affected Hollywood films. And not only to Hollywood movies, but also to many cultural expressions, both cinematographic and musical or literary. Censorship that lasted until the end of the sixties. We cannot forget the censorship of the work of Henry Miller or Lolita, by Nabokov. What began in the cinema spread through many arts and we could say that it even reaches today. Jabo H. Pizarroso tells us how the film directors of the time fought against censorship, who used their ingenuity to the extreme to overcome it and establish double and triple meanings. And it is that, one thing was what was seen on the screen and another thing was what was below what we saw and heard. https://www.eitb.eus/es/radio/radio-vitoria/programas/radio-vitoria-gaur/detalle/9175787/la-censura-de-besos/ Quote
