[Economics] The Colombian economy grew 2.98% in February 2023

The National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) published on Tuesday the results of the Economic Monitoring Indicator, which measures the evolution of added value produced by economic activities in the country. In February 2023, the Colombian economy grew by 2.98% compared to the same period in 2022.

For February 2023, the ISE, in its series adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, stood at 121.84, which represented a growth of 3.11% compared to the same month of 2022. However, if the ISE of February with that of January shows a decrease of 1.50%.

According to DANE, between January-February the ISE registered a growth of 4.42% compared to the same period of the previous year. These were the results by activities:
Primary activities
Agriculture, livestock, hunting, forestry, fishing and the exploitation of mines and quarries decreased by 2.23% per year. Regarding the monthly behavior, the ISE for February represented a growth of 0.18%, compared to January 2023.
