Draeno Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 It was so lost in the memory lane that even someone like me who boasts of having played almost every Star Wars game released to date barely remembered it. And that in its beginnings it was quite po[CENSORED]r with more than 10 million registered users. What happened to make you forget so quickly? And the most important. Why are we talking about him today? 13 years after its original release, there is a group of fans working to bring back Clone Wars Adventures, a massively multiplayer online game that, along the lines of the no less po[CENSORED]r Free Realms, allowed us to share all kinds of experiences / minigames with players from all over the world. the world. Rather, the goal was to attract a whole new generation of young fans who discovered Star Wars with the Clone Wars animated series and the prequel trilogy. With this audience in mind, challenges based on racing, shooting, droid programming puzzles, tower defense-style strategy minigames, or even space battles were created. And over time, new characters or even worlds were added to fight in large battlefields. None of these tests was especially original or spectacular, but the Sony Online game was able to win the affection of the players for the attention with which it recreated the style of the Dave Filoni series. Nostalgia for Star Wars Available in its day as a free to play game, Clone Wars Adventures was received rather lukewarmly by the specialized press, mainly due to the use of micropayments, since not all the minigames could be played freely; not to mention that the more you wanted to customize your padawan, the more money you had to invest. You could have your own personal space and decorate it to your liking. But you had to pay. And of course, being a game designed for the little ones in the house... what was the point of filling everything with this kind of premium content? There were great ideas like a social hub where you could see other players and interact with them, but if they happened to be in a minigame (which was normal), you'd see them petrified in the lobby, with no option to do anything. Over time the game smoothed out its rough edges, not for nothing is it the work of the parents of Everquest and other great MMORPGs, but as it grew and added new content, it lost players to the point of making server maintenance unsustainable. Thus, Sony Online announced the end of four of its games (including Free Realms), ending the run of Clone Wars Adventures... until now. A group of fans has been working on a remake of this game for some time, and there are already close to 8,000 fans who actively participate in Discord to talk about the project. The idea is to recover the original game and for now they have managed to make it possible to explore several planets, as well as participate in various multiplayer minigames or even chat with the characters from the well-known television series. It remains to be seen, of course, what Disney does since it is a fan project without -for now- official approval. https://www.3djuegos.com/juegos/star-wars-clone-wars-adventures/noticias/fans-star-wars-reviven-13-anos-despues-juego-casi-olvidado-todos
