Malas noticias para PlayStation: Estados Unidos se está cansando de Sony y de sus exclusividades ya que un senador exige ver documentos privados

It is not the first time that there is some concern with the practices that Sony has been carrying out for many years. A US senator recently pointed out that "Sony controls a 98% monopoly of the game market" in Japan. However, she forgot the impact of Nintendo in the Japanese country. Regardless, PlayStation already had to submit documents to the FTC about its agreements with third parties.

The Axios medium has echoed that Senator Kevin Cramer of North Dakota has expressed in a letter his "concern about Sony's efforts to protect its video game console business from competition." Cramer demands that Sony share with him "unredacted copies of all agreements that give Sony the exclusive right to distribute a game developed by an independent publisher, that is, agreements behind PlayStation-exclusive games like Final Fantasy XVI that are not announced." also for Microsoft's Xbox".

He also wants to see the agreements he signs with third parties to prevent games from launching on Xbox Game Pass. In addition, Sony has been required to provide documents pertaining to Sony's internal strategy around the purchase of Bungie in 2022. Likewise, Senator Cramer calls Sony hypocritical in its purchase of Activision Blizzard. He also calls Sony's lobbying of the FTC "anti-competitive conduct."

The senator from North Dakota justifies these words because the video game industry contributes to the territory with more than 20.6 million dollars in the economy of said state. There are also more than 221 gaming-related jobs, and it has the potential to grow to 6,320 over the next 10 years. Senator Cramer's opinion is complemented by some arguments signed by 11 other members of Congress last month.
