Throughout this week the April update for Xbox will be released. An 'update' that promises to improve the experience for users of Microsoft consoles and that will focus on two very specific changes. The two big changes in the Xbox update
Regarding the navigability improvements, they focus on searches. The console page dedicated to this purpose will have a renewed appearance with a more elegant and tidy style. There will be a selection of filters at the top of the screen that will allow us to search among recommendations, games, already installed items, movies, applications, or console settings. In general, a good way to be able to access anything we need from a common menu on the machine that has been missing for a long time.

Even so, the energy saving system may be even more interesting. Going to the options menu (or using the new search tool) we can configure the console so that it is only active in a certain range of hours. In this way, it will turn off completely when our day is over and recover its functions only when we are about to wake up. "When your Xbox hours for the day are up, the console will shut down completely automatically, consuming 0.5 watts instead of the 10 or 15 it does when it's active." According to the company, if two users do this 20 hours a day for a year, it will reduce the carbon footprint by the equivalent of a tree planted and growing for a decade.

This last option must be selected manually, since by default it will remain in the current always-ready mode for fast boot. From Xbox they remind users that during the hours of activity the functions will not change with respect to the current ones and that the system is completely automatic. If we want it to be active every day starting at, say, 8:00 in the morning, no additional manual action is required to get it working. Remember that the new update will be available throughout the week.
