#Wittels-
This is technology with the highest level of comfort and protection for future BMW Motorrad motorcycles. High displacement premium motorcycles are objects of desire for many enthusiasts; Unfortunately, they are also for friends of foreign property, for this reason, BMW Motorrad is the first motorcycle manufacturer to offer an alternative to this problem with BMW iFace, a facial recognition system that makes the traditional ignition key obsolete and is complemented by wonder with Keyless Go technology. BMW iFace was developed in partnership with Dr. Gerhard Lesjöh, director of the world's leading institute of ophthalmology at the University of Munich. Initially, the system relies on the user's facial recognition technology, but is complemented by a detailed iris-cornea comparison of the eyes to establish a definitive identification. Facial recognition uses the latest 3D technology integrated into the modern TFT screen of BMW Motorrad motorcycles, which is not visible from the outside. The process is done by band spraying, a technology that has been used for many years, for example, in reverse engineering. To do this, the user's face is scanned, without a helmet, in a biometric and three-dimensional way. Said three-dimensional image is compared with a data record stored in the system. When the calibration is positive, the ignition, steering lock and other functions of the bike are released, making it an effective anti-theft system.Another advantage of the system is that this type of facial recognition also works in the dark, since 3D scanning works with infrared technology.
