Draeno Posted April 13, 2023 Posted April 13, 2023 After ensuring that the Ark: Survival Evolved update was going to be free, the Studio Wildcard team surprised fans with a decision that has caused quite a bit of criticism. The Studio Wildcard team has had a busy few days, as their recent decisions regarding the future of Ark: Survival Evolved have generated protests in the gaming community. To make a brief recap, you just have to know that the developer had promised a free update with which it is intended to rebuild this prehistoric world with Unreal Engine 5. However, the creators have changed their minds and, therefore, now they opt for for selling this so-called Ark: Survival Ascended for $40. As expected, the anger of the community was noted on the networks. For this reason, the team published a statement on Steam where it not only backtracks on the idea of offering a pack with Ark: Survival Ascended and Ark 2, still without a release date, but also justifies the change of idea. "We weren't trying to mislead you with the previous comments; our overall plans and intentions have changed. So you're probably wondering, why don't we make these updates to the original Ark: Survival Evolved? Quite frankly, it wouldn't be feasible. Many of the changes What we're doing in Ark: Survival Ascended will touch many aspects of the game, it will invalidate save files, some mods might not work, some things might not play the same way they did, and we didn't want to change that experience for those whether they prefer it or not can update the game". It is important to remember that the launch of Ark: Survival Ascended will lead to the closure of the official servers of the original version of the game. In this sense, Studio Wildcard ensures that the change affects only a small number of players, since the vast majority choose to enter third-party rooms. Complaints work and the creators of Ark back down As we mentioned earlier in this same news, the massive criticism from the community has had an effect on Studio Wildcard. After all, part of the developer team's strategy was to sell a bundle of Ark: Survival Ascended and Ark 2 to PC and Xbox players, but complaints from players have caused the company to rule out the launch of this package. https://www.3djuegos.com/juegos/ark-survival-evolved/noticias/francamente-no-seria-viable-creadores-ark-justifican-su-cambio-opinion-ola-quejas-comunidad
