"We weren't trying to mislead you with the previous comments; our overall plans and intentions have changed. So you're probably wondering, why don't we make these updates to the original Ark: Survival Evolved? Quite frankly, it wouldn't be feasible. Many of the changes What we're doing in Ark: Survival Ascended will touch many aspects of the game, it will invalidate save files, some mods might not work, some things might not play the same way they did, and we didn't want to change that experience for those whether they prefer it or not can update the game".
It is important to remember that the launch of Ark: Survival Ascended will lead to the closure of the official servers of the original version of the game. In this sense, Studio Wildcard ensures that the change affects only a small number of players, since the vast majority choose to enter third-party rooms.

Complaints work and the creators of Ark back down
As we mentioned earlier in this same news, the massive criticism from the community has had an effect on Studio Wildcard. After all, part of the developer team's strategy was to sell a bundle of Ark: Survival Ascended and Ark 2 to PC and Xbox players, but complaints from players have caused the company to rule out the launch of this package.
