• Other Information: Steven Hiroyuki Aoki was born in Miami and raised in Newport Beach, California. He graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995, was a star player on the college badminton team. His father is Hiroaki “Rocky” Aoki, Japanese born in Tokyo, and his mother, Chizuru Kobayashi. His father was a former wrestling competitor, who also founded the Benihana restaurant chain. He has two older brothers, Kana (now known as “Grace”), and Kevin (owner of Sushi Doraku). He also has three half siblings, all of whom are younger: Kyle, Echo, and Devon Aoki, the supermodel and actress. When he was young, Steve lived with his grandfather, mother and two older brothers.
