Draeno Posted April 8, 2023 Posted April 8, 2023 No matter what make and model of fans you have in your PC, there are times when they just don't work the way you want and you need a tool to be able to configure them to your liking. To do this, in this article we are going to talk about Fan Control, a completely free tool with which you will be able to control all the fans installed on your PC in a simple way. Normally, PC fans are connected to the motherboard, and their speed is automatically controlled by PWM based on the system temperature. However, there are times when it bothers you that they make too much noise when the computer is idle, or when you are playing you would like them to work faster to have better temperatures; Whatever your case, with Fan Control you will be able to easily configure them all. Download and “install” Fan Control As we mentioned before, this is a free tool, so you just have to go to its GitHub repository and download it. What you will download is a compressed file that you will then have to unzip in a folder on your computer, that is your choice, since this program does not require any type of installation and you will simply have to unzip the file and run the FanContro.exe program . Of course, to do the opposite, you simply have to access these same options and uncheck the "Start with Windows" box. How to control fan speed As soon as we run the program for the first time, we will be offered to follow a wizard that will not only detect the fans installed in the system, but also perform a series of detection tests automatically to check their maximum speed, minimum speed, etc., according to so that the control we have over them is maximum. And it is that not all fans are the same: for example, in our tests we have used an RTX 4080 that has two fans, and the software has detected that its minimum operating speed was 45% for one and 48% for the other. Once the software has detected all your fans and their characteristics, you will be offered to label them with the name you want to be able to identify them. In our case, we have two fans on the heatsink but they go to the same connector, so we have named it "CPU Fans", but we also have another 4 fans (3 in front and 1 in the back) that are connected to a hub and they control all of them at once, so we've called them “Box Fans”. https://hardzone.es/noticias/componentes/controlar-ventiladores-fan-control/
