  He was born in Cáceres in 1949. As a teenager he was already part of some musical formations, the best known being the group Los Santos made up of Francisco Álvarez, José María Jiménez and po[CENSORED]r film director Pedro Almodóvar.

  In the 70s he traveled to Madrid to enter the University. In this period he will compose his first songs. The following year he participated in a talent scout contest on TVE, which allowed him to sign his first contract with Hispavox.
