They discover a clue in the code of the Netflix app for iOS that suggests that the company could offer video games on television that could be controlled with the smartphone as a remote.

Netflix podría llevar sus juegos a televisión.

Netflix is putting all the machinery to work to enter the video game sector with great force: the company has gone from offering a few mobile games at no additional cost to its subscribers to having exclusives that are released on iOS and Android only through of your platform. In addition, it has already bought and opened several development studios with which it intends to launch 40 video games this year alone. As if that were not enough, it seems that the next step is to conquer television, but not with series and movies as up to now, but with video games.

This new step has not been officially confirmed, but has been discovered in the code of its mobile application. In it there is a mention of a simple phrase that anticipates that Netflix will bet on bringing video games to television and that, in addition, it will offer technology so that those who do not have a traditional remote control can use their smartphone as a remote control.

Netflix cloud game on tv?
"Playing on your TV requires a controller to play. Do you want to use this phone as a game controller?" is the phrase that Steve Moser, a dataminer specializing in iOS and Mac, has found in the Netflix app for iOS. It does not give much information about the company's supposed future gaming service, but it seems to make it clear that they are at least investigating how to bring video games to television and in such an accessible way that they could be played by everyone, have a console controller in your house or not. Some people are even thinking of a possible Xbox Game Pass-style Netflix cloud gaming service, although it could just as well be games running natively.

It remains to wait to see if this leak translates into a real service or not. Netflix has not wanted to respond to the leak after being asked about it by Eurogamer.
