The battle for Bakhmut has concentrated the interest of recent weeks in the war in Ukraine. This is a key area for Russia in its attempt to conquer Donetsk.

One year after the start of the Ukrainian war, the situation is "extremely tense" in Bakhmut. Volodimir Zelenski assured in his night speech on Tuesday that "the biggest difficulty, as before, is Bakhmut (...). "Russia does not take into account the people and sends them in constant waves against our positions, the intensity of the fighting increases without ceasing."

And this Wednesday, the Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister, Hanna Malyar, confirmed that reinforcements have been sent to the Ukrainian army that maintains the defense of Bakhmut.

Meanwhile, Russia claimed that a Ukrainian drone crashed on Tuesday about 100 km from Moscow, near a gas compression station. Three other aircraft were shot down in other parts of the country, without causing damage. In recent months there have been several incidents with drones in Russian territory, although it is the first time that it has occurred in the capital region.
