FNX Magokiler
"The arrests will continue in the next few hours," said Justice Minister Flávio Dino. The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, arrived in Brasilia this Sunday night to inspect the serious damage caused by Bolsonarists in the headquarters of the three powers of the country, in a frustrated attempt to overthrow him from power. The progressive leader saw first-hand the destruction left by supporters of former ruler Jair Bolsonaro at the Planalto Palace, the seat of government, which he took office on January 1, according to television images. Lula traveled this Sunday to Araraquara, in the interior of the state of Sao Paulo, to learn about the situation in the municipality after the heavy rains that hit the region in recent days. From there, the 77-year-old head of state decreed the federal intervention of the security area of the Federal District of Brasilia until January 31, given the chaos that the Brazilian capital experienced for about four hours. Thousands of Bolsonaro radicals, who have spent weeks asking at the gates of the barracks for an intervention by the Armed Forces to overthrow Lula and return Bolsonaro to power, invaded and destroyed the headquarters of Congress, the Presidency and the Supreme Court. Lula described the coup attempt promoted by "fascist vandals" as "barbaric" and accused Bolsonaro of "stimulating" these anti-democratic acts with his attitude. The former President is currently in the United States and, on his social networks, he rejected the coup acts this Sunday. Meanwhile, Justice Minister Flávio Dino reported that there are about 200 supporters of former President Bolsonaro in custody. "We have almost 200 people arrested in flagrante and the arrests will continue in the next few hours," he declared at a press conference in Brasilia. The minister also reported that they seized "40 buses" that arrived in the Brazilian capital in the last few hours with hundreds of radical Bolsonarists and that they identified the "financiers" who made these trips possible from different parts of the country. Likewise, he denounced that "there are still people on the Internet talking about continuing terrorist acts" and, in this sense, anticipated that there will be police operations against these individuals. https://www.emol.com/noticias/Nacional/2023/01/08/1083296/lula-llega-a-brasilia-detenidos.html
