[Auto] Toyota presents the fourth phase of the Hilux GR-S

Toyota Gazoo Racing Latin America officially announces a new revision for the Hilux GR Sport, which exhibits a renewed design inspired by the Rally and greater performance.

The focus of the sports truck, which is still being manufactured in Argentina, is on fun, on the fact that it is a recreational truck, but that it does not lose the basic qualities of a traditional Hilux, such as robustness, durability and reliability.

Toyota Hilux GR Sport (GR-S IV): mechanical changes

Developed jointly by Toyota teams in Latin America, Australia, Thailand and Japan, it is the new (fourth) evolution of the Hilux GR Sport that incorporates several mechanical innovations such as:

Disc brakes on all four wheels
Wider axle length: 140 mm at the front and 155 at the rear, to improve grip and stability
Clearance extended by 20mm
new suspension diagram
Exclusive monotube shocks with larger piston diameter
According to the brand, the result is sporty driving: "with a level of stability and ride comfort in accordance with that driving style."

What does not change is the engine, keeping the propeller of the GR-S III, the 2.8 Turbodiesel with 224 CV (221 Hp) and 550 Nm of torque. It is exclusively associated with a six-speed automatic gearbox with steering wheel paddles and a 4WD drive system with a reduction gear.

Aesthetically it is the most recognizable Hilux GR-Sport of all, beyond the colors and stickers of the previous versions.

Sporty, aerodynamic and functional elements such as:

Unique flared fenders
New front bumper
Bumper protector with increased angle of attack
Front grille with “TOYOTA” lettering exclusive to GR versions
Bar San Antonio with "spoiler" format

In the cabin, the sports seats with a combination of natural and ecological leather stand out, as well as perforated Alcantara-style material and with red details.

The upholstery of the roof and pillars in black color create a sportier environment where the hallmarks of the GAZOO Racing brand stand out, such as: the key, the identification plate with the unit number, the headrests, the aluminum pedalboard and the covers. Exclusive rugs for this model.

When does the new Hilux GR-S IV arrive?
The launch of the new Hilux GR Sport in Latin America is scheduled for the first half of 2023. Of course, Argentina will be the first country in the region to receive it, because they are manufacturers, but in Chile we should also see it during the year.
