[Auto] Hennessey VelociRaptor 1000, the beastly pick-up reaches a thousand horsepower

In 2013, the Hennessey Performance workshop unveiled the VelociRaptor, a pick-up made on the basis of a Ford F-150 Raptor, whose most outstanding feature was the power it reached, thanks to the use of a 6.2L V8 engine that reached 411hp.

Since then, several Ford models prepared by Hennessey have carried the VelociRaptor name. The latest of these is this VelociRaptor 1000. While it doesn't have six wheels like the 2016 VelociRaptor 6x6, the new work is certainly not going unnoticed, especially for the power: 1000 Hp!

Hennessey VelociRaptor 1000: Exterior

Before inquiring about the drive system of the brand new creation, let's talk about its external appearance. Hennessey made this new VelociRaptor based on the Ford F-150 Raptor R, released to the world just under six months ago.

The Texas native workshop added a series of elements to the pick-up:

Legend “Hennessey” and “Velociraptor” in front
Allusive decals on the sides and tailgate of the cargo box
20'' wheels and 37'' tires

As for the mechanical part, Hennessey worked on the 5.2L Predator V8 engine and replaced the original mechanical compressor (2.5L) with a larger one (3.8L), among other modifications. Thus, it increased its power, which was 700 Hp and 867 Nm, up to 1,013 Hp and 1,152 Nm of torque, so it improved it by a little more than 40%, approximately.

The Hennessey VelociRaptor will begin production in 2023. The North American preparer did not disclose how many units it will manufacture nor its price, although we estimate that it will exceed US$109,145 with which the F-150 Raptor R was launched.
